Add some pizzazz and colour to your home, using plastic milk bottles, old kitchen gloves, carrier bags and light bulbs

Spider plant
Here I have cut my basic leaf shapes out of plastic milk bottles and then applied colour, using carrier bags. These have been sown on, but you could use a stapler. I have then attached them around a base, using a 4 litre milk bottle with it’s neck removed.

Fern
Individual fern leaves are first cut out of plastic milk bottle, then the same shape is cut out of a green carrier bag and then machine sowed to attach, down the middle. All leaves are then stapled onto a 1 pint sized plastic milk bottle.

Flower
Cut out circle from a plastic milk bottle, cut out larger circle from colourful carrier bag and tie at the back, sow button onto the centre/front to create the pistil.

Pencil holder
A v-shape is cut from a 4 litre plastic milk bottle, the neck and lid are left in place. holes are made for the pencils, turn upside down and use a pebble in the lid to weigh it down.

Christmas decoration
Cutting around your milk bottle tops, to create a variety of star and snowflake shapes.

Christmas baubles
Old light bulbs are decorated with glass paint, glitter glue and sequins. Then hung in the window to catch the light.

Patchwork Clock
An old paint lid is used for the clock face, rivets denote the numbers. It is mounted on a patchwork base, formed by machining sections of decorative paper and plastic milk bottles together.

Lotus Vase
One litre/2pint plastic milk bottles are used as a base for this vase. Petals are attached using a glue gun. A simple and cost effective idea for a wedding table.
